Krittika is a my favorite Thai food restaurant in my neighborhood. It's sort of small and you can't bring a lot of people. Each table has its own little paper lantern and it's never very loud, which makes for good ambiance.*
We ordered for an appetizer Tod Mun which are deep fried fishcakes, although good, a smidgen greasy. They are sort of small and don’t fill you up before your meal, which I think is good. These were 4 stars.
For one of the mains we had Prawns with green curry that, to me, was the color of toothpaste and sort of spicy, but the prawns were good and everything else about it was appealing. But, I didn’t have too much of that so I can't say much, but my parents were really liking it. This dish was only 3 stars.
Another thing we had was Yellow Curry which is chicken and potatoes in a yellow curry sauce ( hence the name.) the chicken was good but nothing special. The potatoes were cooked so that they were soft and easy to cut which was good because they were otherwise big non-bite size chunks. This was perfect mixed with the rice and Pad See Aew, but just a tad bit too spicy for me. This dish was 4 stars.
With that, we had my all time favorite dish at Krittika, Pad See Aew which is wide rice noodles stir-fried with carrots and broccoli, and can come with egg (which I believe is traditional)l or a meat selection. We had it with chicken. It was served with a sauce that was indescribable and and the carrots and broccoli had the sauce and were better than amazing. This dish was like 6 stars!
And the best part is we’ve never had a bad meal there and I don’t think you will either! So if you’re in the ‘hood, check it out! The directions are below.
Ciao for now!
*in this sort of restaurant you order food then share them.
