Ray's Boathouse vs. Salty's

Hi guys,

I know it's been awhile since I last posted but good thing I've got four new restaurants to review.
First up is the first ever competition between two blogs by the Taste Buds. Ray's Boathouse and Salty's. Let me first give you some background on the two restaurants. Ray's Boathouse is a high-class seafood restaurant with great views of the water. Salty's is a tourist magnet with food good enough to draw tourists back. You may already have an idea whose going to win.

Let's start with the first course,
At Ray's: A beautifully presented crab salad for lack of a better word. There was a little mountain of crab, if I remember right, and heavenly artichokes on top of dandelion leaves. It was delicious and the crab melted in my mouth and went beautifully with the slightly bitter Dandelion Leaves. The artichokes were the first ones I've ever had and have converted me into an artichoke lover. Five stars for that dish!
The other first course dish from Ray's was highly controversial that evening. It was a scallop in a way I had never had it before. Unfortunately I forget the style but maybe I can give you foodies out there some clues. First of all it was luke-warm. Second it tasted like dog food and third there was too much stuff on top that over powered my taste buds. In my opinion they new the dish was a bust so they threw a bunch of crap on top to make it taste better. Like I said before, the dish was controversial. Myself and a diner named Miss Scarlet thought the dish was a one or two, respectively. But a diner named Mr.Black and a diner named Harvomatic thought the dish was more of a four or a five, respectively. (Note: Respectively as in "in that order." e.g. Sally and I ordered Strawberry and Chocolate ice cream. I ordered Strawberry. Sally had Chocolate. Get it?)

Now onto Salty's, (bear with me guys. I know this is a long post. I'll make this short and sweet because I used up most of my creative energy on the Ray's paragraph.)
We had Calamari with fried oysters. It was nothing special. (It doesn't get more short and sweet than that, does it?)

Alrighty folks now you may be asking yourself, "Did they only eat the fist course? And if they did then wouldn't it be the first course, main course, and final course?"

Well I am sorry to say that I am leaving this post off with a cliff hanger. I will write about the main dish when I get back from Disney Land. (I know. What a typical 11 year old thing to do.)

And, don't worry I will add more creative literature when I finish the article. I've also got another Battle of the Fooders coming up so stay tuned.
(I feel like I have a radio show. "Stay Tuned" ha. But seriously, do as I say! Mwah ha ha ha.

) oops I forgot the other parenthesis. Bye.
